A long weekend away to Paris for our 11 year wedding anniversary. It has been a long time since I was first here and Jason hadnt been before. A quick taxi ride from the airport we were staying in a hotel round the corner from The Eiffel Tower. Arriving late we decided to do a quick walk to it and its surrounding park before stopping for dinner at the busy eatery next to our hotel. The saturday morning Jason had booked online for the Lourve Muesum. We got up early and walked the city including the fab gardens in front of the Lourve. Being in the first twenty people in, everyone starts running. Jason is like, lets go follow them. I wanted to get a map, but in the end we just started running. Everyone wanting to get to see the Mona Lisa before the queues. Through a maze of rooms, we finally get there. Its so tiny but worth getting a photo without crowds of people in front. We chilled then and spent hours going through room after room. Not really knowing where we were. A must see for anyone, its simply mindblowing how big the place is. 40,000 steps later, that tells you how massive it is. The next day we stopped for breakfast at one of the many bakeries. Fresh croissants & hot coffee, oh how i have missed french food. We walked the Siene river taking in the views. One of the best places to visit in Paris is the Pantheon. What an interior, its hard to explain. But so detailed and we found the crypts. Where Marie Curie is intombed with her husband. Full of famous french people, They are labelled so easy to find your way around. Lunch in a cafe on the Siene, fresh baguettes, soaking up the sun, people watching. By this time we must have walked most of central Paris. The Arc de Triomphe and Champ Elysees. The last morning, before we left we wandered the park under the Eiffel tower watching dogs running around. It was the local dog park for meeting all your furry friends. A quick cruise down the river Siene to fill in the morning, taking in the sights, including Notre Dame. Its not cheap in Paris, but it is a capital city. Fresh fruit from the street our hotel was on, £30 for a punnet of organic cherries. Yes you read that right. Paris is full of organic, vegan, bio, health food places to eat. A great distraction from the Paris riots down the street.
