Aberaeron, what a quaint coloured town. On the west coast of Wales. In a holiday let that again didnt disappoint. Walking the cute town, stopping for its well know honey icecream, we walked the coast to the nearby village of Aberarch. The next day Jason said lets walk to New Quay along the Ceredigion coastal path, its only 10km away. This path really shows off all that west wales has to offer. The dogs loving the long walk. Arriving at New quay we stopped for pasties before heading back along the beach. The day ended up being a massive walk of 25km. We all crashed out after a feed of fish n chips. My legs were about to fall off after id cycled 20km the day before. This resulted in me saying to Jason, a road trip and not a walking trip was needed the next day. Devils bridge on the bucket list. The waterfalls cascading down as we made our way down the steep steps in the pouring rain. The rain showers kept coming, so we decided to head to Aberystwyth to dry out. I must admit what a lovely town. The pier, remains of a castle prominent on the shoreline and historic buildings dotted about. That afternoon, sat out the back of our homestay. Colourful butterflies of white and orange landing all around me. Another day trip to the smallest city in the United Kingdom, St Davids. When i say small it has a tiny square, beautiful catherdral, and Bishops palace. Lobster rolls for lunch, supporting the local stall holder in the market. Bishops palace and Cathedral was beautiful. Well worth a stop if you are there. Next stop was the Blue Lagoon. People still jumping off into it. Wet suits needed due to the icy cold waters of the slate rock surrounding it. On the way back we spotted a sign for a burial chamber Pentre Ifan. Very cool history with slabs of stone supporting each other, a little like stonehenge.
