Thursday we were knackered from the previous day so took a short stroll back up to the parkland at Cockington for fresh air

Friday we planned on visiting Dartmouth. Public transport in Torquay is amazing you can bus, ferry or train almost anywhere. We opted for the walk to Paignton and catching the steam train that had passed us on our big walk to Brixham. Arriving at the station several people had dogs and the same idea. We practically had a carriage to ourselves. What a cool experience and one i highly recommend. 25mins of views, many we were smiling at as we had walked a lot of the first bit on the coastal path. The train arrives in Kingswear and includes a 5min ferry across the Dart river in the ticket price. Dartmouth is stunning. A harbour town set along the river. We headed out towards the sea to Dartmouth castle and back through the town to the harbour again. We sat taking in the views watching the steam train come in and leave from the other side. Couldn’t resist buying fudge in three flavours to take back. We did the reverse travel back ending up in Torquay trying to find something for dinner.

Saturday we wanted to go to Torquay the crowds and traffic were crazy. We were glad we had the week without it all. It was hard to move in places. But a good final day out. George had a doggy ice-cream as we ate ours on the harbour side. Overall a fab week with nearly 90km of walking. One day we will actually sit still on a holiday. But what fun would that be with all there is to explore.
